What the Bible says about eternal life:

God created you with a purpose to know Him, Honor Him, and Serve Him.Revelation 4:11 “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for Thou hast created all things, and for Thy pleasure they are and were created.”1 Corinthians 10:31 “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.”Psalm 16:11 “Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in Thy presence is fulness of joy; at Thy right hand are pleasures for evermore.”All humanity has a problem. It is sin.Mankind chose to sin against God instead of honoring and serving Him.Sin is anything I think, say, or do that breaks God’s law. Lying, stealing, and disobedience are all examples of sin (Exodus 20).Romans 3:10 “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one.”Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

Our sin has a penalty. It is death or separation from God.Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”Because of our sin we not only earn physical death but eternal separation from forever in a place called hell.Revelation 20:14-15 “And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”If sin has such a great penalty what can we do about it?Man has tried many different ways to gain eternal life and escape hell. Many religions teach good works to earn salvation. But all our works fall short.Titus 3:5a “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us,”Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works lest any man should boast.”

The Bible tells us good news: Jesus took our place as a sinless substitute!Jesus Christ was God in the flesh who came to earth to take our punishment and pay the penalty for our sins by dying on the cross in our place.Romans 5:8 “But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet siners, Christ died for us.”1 Peter 3:18a “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God,”Salvation is a gift, but it must be received.Jesus has already paid the price for your sin. He is the only way to heaven, but you must decide what you are going to do with Jesus. Will you receive Him or reject Him?Romans 10:13 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”1 John 5:11-12 “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.”

God offers us eternal life. The Bible tells us we can know that we are on our way to heaven and have a relationship with God.1 John 5:13 “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”

Would you consider these truths and put your trust in Christ today? To do so:Admit that you have sinned against God and ask Him for forgiveness.Believe that Jesus died in your place on the cross and rose from the dead.Call on Jesus alone to save you from your sin and give you eternal life.

What To Wear

We do not have a dress code at Beacon Baptist Church and encourage you to come comfortable and feel welcome!

Children

On Sunday morning, we encourage families with infants - 2 years old to arrive around 10:45 am to check in your children for the nursery. We invite you to bring along your other children for the singing portion of our morning meeting (they are welcome to remain in service for the preaching as well)! We dismiss the children for a separate class during our final song. Your children will enjoy a time specifically designed for them to learn the Scripture.

Service Format

Our service is intentional in that it follows a deliberate order of worship but is not formal in style. We sing several songs, offer congregational and pastoral prayers to God, hear Scripture read, and give our offerings and tithes. We close each morning worship service with a time of reflection and response, with the typical service finishing around 12:15 pm. After the morning meeting we invite you to stick around for further fellowship and some refreshments around the property.

Sermon

Preaching is generally expositional, meaning that it seeks to systematically work through passages of Scripture, declaring the point of a particular Biblical passage, with practical application rooted in the redemptive story of Scripture. Our sermon series regularly alternate between the Old and New Testaments. All preaching is driven by the Gospel, the Bible’s main message of God saving sinners through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Music

We sing a blend of lyrically rich songs, both recent and historic. We strongly prefer congregational singing, which emphasizes the gathered body enthusiastically singing praise to God with one voice. We steer away from performance-driven or entertainment-driven music. We encourage the whole congregation to participate in the singing no matter our level of talent.

Teens

Our desire is to develop students who are mature in the faith and integrated into the life of the church. Our heart is to come alongside parents to further the discipleship of young people. We come alongside parents by hosting a regular meeting designed specifically for teenagers (of course, parents are also warmly invited)!Friday Beacon teen meetings consist of food, fun activities, music, and a time around God's Word that furthers the discipleship of teens. Prepare to have fun and receive a Bible-based challenge!

What We Believe

The Gospel

The gospel changes absolutely everything. It is the good news of salvation presented to all mankind through the finished work of Christ. He is the solution to all of the effects of sin in our hearts and in the world. (1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Gal. 2:16)

The Word of God

The gospel opens our eyes to the truth. The Holy Spirit uses the gospel through preaching, teaching, and discipleship to open blind eyes to the truth of Jesus Christ. It instructs, corrects, and sanctifies our lives, making us more and more like Christ. The Word of God is our final authority for faith and practice. (2 Cor. 4:5-6)

God-Centered Worship

The gospel makes us worshippers of the true and living God. The Father seeks to transform us into a people who exalt God through Jesus Christ alone. We are committed to God-centered public worship as a congregation, as well as in our families, and in our private lives. (John 4:23)

Commitment to the Local Church

The gospel is aimed at creating local Christian communities. This leads to the planting and flourishing of local churches. We are committed to teaching and living as a body, serving each other, and serving within our community and cultural context. (1 Thess. 1:8)

A Heart for the World

The gospel is good news for all the peoples of the world. It calls us as a congregation to be senders and goers, extending the gospel to every tribe, tongue, and nation. We are committed to making disciples, marking disciples through baptism, molding disciples through teaching, and multiplying disciples through training. (Matt 28:18-20)

Statement of Faith

The Bible

We believe that the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and inerrant Word of God. It is the final authority in faith and practice. We use the Authorized Version of the Bible in all of our ministries. (II Peter 1:20,21 / II Timothy 3:16,17)

The Trinity

We believe in one true and living God revealed in the Scriptures as eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
(Matthew 28:19,20 / Mark 12:29 / John 14:26 / II Corinthians 13:14/I John 5:7)

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit and was born of the virgin Mary; that He was true God and true man; that He lived a sinless life upon this earth; that He died on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for sinners; that He rose bodily from the grave on the third day; that He ascended bodily into Heaven where He continues His ministry at the right hand of God as His people's Advocate and High Priest; and that He is personally, visibly and imminently returning to this earth to set up His Kingdom.
(Matthew 1:18-25 / John 1:1,14 / I John 5:20 / Hebrews 4:15 / I Corinthians 15:3,4 / II Corinthians 5:21 / I Peter 2:24 / Luke 24:36-48 / Acts 1:9-11 / I John 2:1,2 / Ephesians 1:20 / Hebrews 4:14-16 / Matthew 25:31,32 / Revelation 20:6)

The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Scriptures assign to the Holy Spirit all the attributes of God; that this present era of the church is, in a special way, the dispensation of the Holy Spirit; and that His ministry in the world includes reproving, regeneration, indwelling, guiding and empowering men.
(Acts 5:3,4 / John 16:7-11 / John 3:3-5 / I Corinthians 6:19 / Romans 8:14 / Acts 1:8)

Mankind

We believe that man was created by the direct act of God; that he was made in the image of God; that the fallen nature is imputed to all mankind through Adam, and that his descendants, inheriting a fallen, sinful nature, are under the condemnation and wrath of God, and are in need of a new birth.
(Genesis 1:26,27 / Genesis 2:16,17 / Genesis 3 / Romans 5:12-19 / Ephesians 2:1-3 / John 3:3 / John 3:36)

Salvation

We believe that all men are sinners by nature and are therefore separated from God. Faith in Jesus Christ is the only hope of salvation and redemption from this broken and fallen condition. Those who reject Jesus Christ as personal Saviour are separated from God for eternity, but those who receive Jesus as Saviour are adopted into God’s family and given His gift of eternal life. (Genesis 5:1–5; Acts 4:19, 16:31; Romans 3:10–23, 5:6–12, 6:23, 10:9–10; Ephesians 2:8–9; Titus 3:5–6; Revelation 20:11–14)

Eternal Security

We believe that God has given to the believer Scriptural grounds for knowing positively that he is saved; that God has promised and provided to keep His children even in times of failure, when they fall out of fellowship with Him; that God has assured His followers that as believers they are secure in Christ. Sin does not affect our relationship with the Lord, sin affects our fellowship with the Lord.
(I John / John 10:28,29 / Romans 8:35-39 / Philippians 1:6 / John 15:1-7 / Colossians 1:21-23 / Hebrews 3:14)

Ordinances

We believe that God has given His Church the ordinances of Baptism, which is to be administered only to believers, by immersion and in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit; and the Lord's Supper, which is to be open to all born-again believers present.
(Matthew 28:19,20 / Romans 6:3,4 / I Corinthians 11:23-26 / John 13:1-17)

The Christian Life

We believe that the Christian is to live a righteous, pure and holy life; that he is called to be a witness for Christ; that he is to be faithful in attending his church; and that he is to support his church by his tithes and offerings.
(Romans 12:1,2 / II Corinthians 6:14-18 / II Corinthians 5:17-20 / Acts 1:8 / Hebrews 10:25 / Malachi 3:10 / Matthew 23:23 / I Corinthians 16:1,2 / Titus 2:11,12)

Judgment

We believe that all men will stand before God in judgment - the righteous before the Judgment Seat of Christ, when Jesus returns for His Bride, the Church, just prior to the period of tribulation and the thousand year reign of Christ on the earth; and the unrighteous before the Great White Throne Judgment at the close of the Millennial Kingdom; and that the wicked will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.
(Hebrews 9:27 / John 5:29 / I Thessalonians 4:13-18 / II Corinthians 5:10 / Revelation 20:1-15 / Matthew 25:46)
